Notes: This is the first full release of the Ride the Tiger demos, although we've heard all of these songs before in one form or another. It's Lake who has most come back to this material. (3) was re-worked by ELP on Black Moon. (1) was part re-worked as "Paper Blood" (credited to Emerson/Lake/Palmer there) on ELP's Black Moon, while (4) was part re-worked by ELP on In the Hot Seat (credited to Emerson/Lake). Lake subsequently released the majority of these actual recordings: (1) and a version of "Love Under Fire" (7, judging by track times) were on his From the Beginning - The Greg Lake Retrospective; and (2), (5) and (6) were previously on his From the Underground Vol. II. Downes meanwhile re-worked (2) for Asia's Aqua, which was around the same time as Black Moon. That means only (3), (4) and (7) have not been previously released.

Having met when Lake was briefly in Asia in 1983, Downes and Lake started writing together, eventually recording these tracks Sep 1989-Apr 1990 in Lake's studio in Putney, London, UK.
