Mohawk Valley Welcome Center

Date visited: 8/22/2026

This is a rest area off I-90 West, about half way between Albany and Utica. It's also a historic park with informational signs about the significance of the Erie Canal and the Mohawk Valley in general. There is a playground, two separate enclosed small dog parks, a pedestrian walk way by the river, and the model canal boat. Of course, the rest area also has restrooms (only open between 6AM and 10PM), vending machines and picnic tables too. It's not a bad set up for a rest area.
